At Organizational Wisdom Lab, harnessing wisdom is at the heart of everything we do. Throughout history, cultures shared wisdom through story telling, and those with the wisdom took care to pass it on to future generations. But businesses and nonprofits often lack containers for the wisdom that founders and other leaders possess, making it difficult for the organization to maintain its culture long-term. Simply put, when people leave an organization, so too does their wisdom.
Sure, your organization may have the data and information that will help it continue to be successful, but harnessing the wisdom is key to a bright future with a cohesive team. Data is neutral — just the facts. Information allows us to see trends within that data. But wisdom means being able to look at how and where the information is applied to discern what we can do next.
At Wisdom Lab, we work with businesses, nonprofits and foundations to curate and capture that vital wisdom for the long-term health, sustainability and vitality of the organization.
Our team of skilled experts in strategic planning, graphic design, applied research, strategy assessment and development, and more use the wisdom curated from your organization and work with you to co-create testable ideas in a lab-like experience that helps your organization overcome the hurdles it faces.
We curate wisdom to ignite action.

Eric is a human development and deep collaboration entrepreneur. In addition to running OWL, he has worked for and developed many organizations dedicated to helping people become more healthy, cooperative, insightful, and awake. After 20 years of working with youth and families in schools, religious and mental health organizations, he saw there was a need for new ways “to catch the people who were falling through the cracks.” The Trusted Health Network, The e Agency (Entrepreneurship in Health and Education) and the School Community Team were all efforts to meet this challenge. These experiences culminated into seeing the need for organizations to value their wisdom assets so that the best data, stories, practices, and people did not become lost in transitions.

Michael is a strategic-facilitator, maximizer and solutionist. Helping others LAUNCH, GROW, and MAXIMIZE has always been his passion. Michael cut his teeth in business working at the corporate office for the largest furniture retailer in the country. For nearly a decade, he learned merchandising, marketing, finance, product distribution, manufacturing, legal and real estate. He says, “I felt like I earned my MBA working for this great company and being mentored by leadership that modeled strong core values and solid business principles.” His next business assignment gave him the opportunity to learn the art of running a family business (not his own) and produce record growth while building a high capacity team of employees in another competitive market.
These two experiences served as the background for launching his own enterprise in August of 2000 coming alongside CEOs and owners to help them get into strategic alignment, build their leadership teams, and produce significant results. From marketing companies to product companies and service companies, even including an Olympic Athlete, Michael has been using his expertise to live out his motto “Celebrating the Success of Others.”
In 2001, he was trained by Pete Richardson as a LifePlan facilitator. In 2007, he was trained by Tom Paterson as a StratOp facilitator and feels like those experiences allowed him to live out his calling. Pivot now offers a full suite of tools to help clients drive long-term change through deepened awareness, insights and sustainable action.
A Colorado native, Michael has been married to Kristin for 20 years and they live with their three children, Grace, Anna and Colin, in Castle Rock.
